Ever wanted to know the Capacity gang a bit better? Well, you’re in the right place. Each month we’ll be sitting down with a member of the team here at Capacity, spending 5 minutes asking them some of our burning questions. We’ll find out everything from why they joined Capacity, to what inspires them most, to who’d play them in a biopic about their life.
This month, we sat down with Goda Dragunaite, our Digital Comms Manager, who joined Capacity back in 2022.
Last month we spent time getting to know Sophie Kervin a bit better, and she nominated you for this month’s ‘5 Minutes With’. We like to start with the basics. So, can you tell us about how you came to join the Capacity team?
Until I joined Capacity, my career was very much commercial-based, which is pretty typical for a marketing career. I really love the creativity that’s rooted in evidence and strategic thinking that marketing offers, but wanted to do something that could have a more positive impact on the world.
I came across a vacancy advertised online and was drawn in by Capacity’s focus on values and a supportive culture that fosters learning. I joined Capacity in the summer of 2022 and the last 2 years have flown by!
What are you most looking forward to in your role?
Since I joined Capacity, I’ve been working on a project that aims to transform the landscape of children and young people’s emotional health and wellbeing in Wirral.
For me, a big part of this project has been the development of a new digital platform called Branch and an accompanying launch campaign that will be going live in the next couple of months. That’s what I’m most looking forward to – it’ll be exciting to see it come to life.
Okay, now for some rapid fire questions. What three words best describe you?
Very efficient.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Done is better than perfect.
What inspires you?
The people around me – my lovely friends, partner, parents and co-workers. Seeing people achieve brilliant things and feeling supported to do the same is the best inspiration.
If you could have a superpower what would it be?
I’d love to be able to teleport! I’d pop over to Lithuania for a nice summery swim in a lake, join the family for a weekend BBQ and still be back in my own bed that same day… what a dream. Plus, no more being stuck in traffic or waiting in the queue for passport checks when I’m travelling. Absolute dream.
What’s one thing you wish you’d known when you were younger?
Nobody has it all figured out!
If you had a magic wand, what’s the one thing you’d fix?
I would magic more empathy into the world. I think being able to relate to other people’s problems would better support those who are more vulnerable, improve animal rights and put more emphasis on sustainability.
What’s your favourite place in the Liverpool City Region?
Formby! I love the pine trees, sand dunes and the salty smell of the sea. It’s an amazing place for a walk all year long and looks a bit like the seaside in Lithuania so it brings back memories of childhood summers.
What’s one thing on your bucket list that you want to tick off this year?
Running a marathon! I’m training for it at the moment and will be running the Vilnius Marathon on the 8th September.
Who’d play you in a biopic about your life?
Err, Emma Stone?
What’s a skill you’re working on mastering?
Mindfulness. I’ve always had a busy brain, so progress is slow…
What are you most excited about in life right now?
I’m marrying my fantastic partner in September! So, I’m very excited to have our friends and families all in the same room, having a boogie and raising a glass to celebrate love.
One last question – who should we spend 5 minutes with next month?
I nominate Sarah Lee!
