Capacity, a community interest company and public service innovation agency based in Liverpool City Region, will be collaborating with Local Trust to grow and build a sustainable model for 3ni.
3ni is a new social value partnership, bringing together policy and practice to transform disadvantaged neighbourhoods across the country. By creating a space for collaboration and innovation, 3ni is working with local government and the wider public sector to drive meaningful, lasting change where it’s needed most.
3ni’s research, events, and activities support local government and public sector partners in learning what works—and, more importantly, putting it into action. The programme will be led by Dan Crowe, who will join Capacity as 3ni Director.
Chris Catterall, Capacity chief executive, said:
“We’re delighted to be working with Local Trust to build on the success of 3ni into the future. Local, place-based work is at the heart of what we do and we’re looking forward to Dan joining the Capacity team and continuing 3ni’s impressive work.
At Capacity, we believe that real, long-term solutions lie within our communities and empowering people at a local, grassroots level is central to 3ni’s philosophy and success.”
Matt Leach, Local Trust chief executive, said:
“Over the last 4-5 years Local Trust has built increasingly strong relationships with local authorities, mayoral combined authorities and other local statutory agencies exploring the impact and importance of social capital, social infrastructure and neighbourhood regeneration on their work.
3ni was born here at Local Trust but with the Big Local programme coming to an end, it’s exciting that we are handing over our approach so our legacy grows and thrives in other organisations. 3ni will take that work forward in partnership with Capacity CIC.”
Daniel Crowe, 3ni director, said:
“Working with local government and public sector partners to improve our neighbourhoods and communities has never been more important.
The partnership between Capacity and Local Trust comes at the perfect time to develop and grow 3ni’s impact on community-led regeneration and support investment in social infrastructure in the places that need it most.
We’re looking forward to working with our growing network of local government officers and people working in the public sector to collaborate, share best practice and drive change across England.”
Who’s Behind 3ni?
3ni is a partnership between Capacity and Local Trust, two organisations committed to rethinking how public services and community regeneration work. Together, we’re bringing fresh ideas, practical tools, and hands-on support to help local government and public sector partners make real, lasting change in the places that need it most.
Capacity
Capacity is a community interest company based in the Northwest and working with local people and organisations to bring positive change to communities across the country. Our work is built on a deep understanding of local communities, public services, social issues and creating real change that local people can see and feel.
Local Trust
Local Trust believe in putting more power, resources and decision-making into the hands of local communities, to enable them to transform and improve their lives and the places in which they live. Through initiatives like Big Local, our work is about demonstrating the value of long-term, resident-led funding and using our learning to influence how policy makers, funders, and others engage with communities and place.
