Capacity Fundamentals

Creating the conditions for change.

The public services of the future won’t succeed by working in the ways of the past. We’re working with a range of public and third sector leaders and doers to drive fundamental change in the system itself. We’ve set out to convene and connect people and organisations who have the same enthusiasm we do, the ones who are keen to work together and do things differently.

Forging the Fundamentals

Late last year, we engaged with 100 public and third sector leaders from across Cheshire and Merseyside. We wanted to learn more about their day jobs, what was going well, but also what was keeping them up at night. Nothing was off the table, we sought their views, heard their ambitions and listened to their frustrations. Then we started to think about how we could do something different.

The current and recent experiences shared were vast, with complexity, contradictions and wide-ranging opportunities and challenges. We discovered people were keen to share, and that they had an enthusiasm that matched ours. This is where Capacity Fundamentals began. We realised that we have a role to play as conveners and enablers, supporting organisations to work together, try things differently, and create the conditions for real change.

Fundamentally Different

Fundamentally Different brings together public and third sector leaders, doers and thinkers from across the Liverpool City Region and Cheshire. The events are a chance to pull busy people away from the pressures of the day to day to convene, share learning and collectively think about how we can overcome some of the biggest challenges facing our public services.

Fundamentally Speaking

Fundamentally Speaking brings together leaders, thinkers and doers working in public services in the Liverpool City Region and Cheshire. Each podcast explores public service innovation with people doing things differently and making a real difference to the lives of people in the region.
