We like to start with the basics. So, can you tell us about how you came to join the Capacity team?
I joined Capacity back in 2016, when I was recruited to be Chief Exec and the first member of the Capacity Team! Before Capacity, I was Managing Director at The Reader – a leading charity based here in Liverpool which develops and delivers shared reading across the UK to support wellbeing, community and educational outcomes. They also run the brilliant Mansion House in Calderstones Park.
What are you most looking forward to in your role?
Working with trusted partners to crack some of the city region’s and country’s biggest opportunities and challenges when making public services people services.

Calm, bold and kind.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Surround yourself with smarter people than you.
What inspires you?
Working together with smart people on a big challenge.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Time travel.
What’s one thing you wish you’d known when you were younger?
Worry and stress less (easier said than done).
Who’d play you in a biopic of your life?
I don’t really watch films, so I don’t really know anybody… Can I just say Jurgen Klopp because I like Jurgen Klopp?!
If you had a magic wand, what’s the one thing you’d fix?
I’d make it so that kids in care had the same life chances as other kids.
What’s your favourite place in the Liverpool City Region?
Crosby Beach – I love running down to the beach…
What’s one thing on your bucket list that you want to tick off this year?
I think it’s just happened. Watching Liverpool win the league at Anfield!
What’s a skill you’re working on mastering?
Lifting weights.
What are you most excited about in life right now?
Watching our kids, Ivy & Bea, grow up.
