We like to start with the basics. So, can you tell us about how you came to join the Capacity team?
I joined in the team in March last year. Before I joined Capacity I worked for Marketing Liverpool for ten years, working on tourism and major events. Pretty much the total opposite of what I’m doing now!
What are you most looking forward to in your role?
Working with great people and organisations to make a difference to people’s lives in and around Liverpool.
Okay, now for some rapid-fire questions. What three words best describe you?
Reliable, approachable, compassionate.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t take things, or yourself, too seriously.
What inspires you?
Working with good people who want to make a difference. Working at Capacity you see the work that people do in our communities to help people going through a tough time. Volunteers, people working in charities and running social enterprises. They really are the best of us.
If you could have a superpower what would it be?
Becky said flying, so I’ll go for being able to see into the future.
What’s one thing you wish you’d known when you were younger?
Stop worrying about what other people think.
Who’d play you in a biopic of your life?
Jason Statham is the only bald British actor I can think of! He’d murder the Scouse accent.
If you had a magic wand, what’s the one thing you’d fix?
Saving the planet from burning.
What’s your favourite place in the Liverpool City Region?
Croxteth Park. It’s a beautiful stately home and park in North Liverpool. I grew up not far away and it seemed like travelling into a different world.
What’s one thing on your bucket list that you want to tick off this year?
Going to Japan. Been saying it for ages. Finally booked it.
What’s a skill you’re working on mastering?
Having less opinions about things and staying off social media. It’s toxic and destructive.
What are you most excited about in life right now?
My son’s graduating in the summer. He said he wants to ‘change the face of fashion’. That sounds pretty exciting!
