We like to start with the basics. So, can you tell us about how you came to join the Capacity team?
I joined 3 months ago as part of 3ni: The National Network for Neighbourhood Improvement, and it’s flown by! It’s been great to really get stuck into a new role and to get to know the rest of the 3ni and wider Capacity team.
Prior to that, I spent a number of years working in social housing, delivering work that focused primarily on community resilience. I also spent some time in grant management, supporting grassroots organisations to access funding. It was great to work with organisations making a real positive impact on people and communities.
What are you most looking forward to in your role?
Seeing the impact that 3ni can have in communities nationally. There’s nothing better than hearing great ideas from people in local areas and seeing them thrive, strengthening and developing the areas they live in.
Okay, now for some rapid-fire questions. What three words best describe you?
Attentive, passionate and… slightly strange!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Relax.
What inspires you?
Seeing exciting ideas become a reality, and working with people who are passionate about what they do.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
I’d love to fly! As a kid, I tried to jump off a bench and use my arms as wings… Needless to say, that didn’t work out.
What’s one thing you wish you’d known when you were younger?
That swallowing pips doesn’t mean that I’ll have fruits growing in my belly haha.
Who’d play you in a biopic of your life?
Maybe Georgie Henley? We used to look a lot alike when we were kids (she was Lucy in Narnia!)
If you had a magic wand, what’s the one thing you’d fix?
Is it cliché to say I would stop all the suffering in the world?
What’s your favourite place in the Liverpool City Region?
The Albert Dock. I love the architecture and it’s such a nice place to hang out. It feels quite peaceful even though it’s in the middle of the city.
What’s one thing on your bucket list that you want to tick off this year?
Buying a house and I’ve just done it!
What’s a skill you’re working on mastering?
Knitting! I can currently do a scarf.
What are you most excited about in life right now?
Finishing the works in my new house.
