We like to start with the basics. So, can you tell us about how you came to join the Capacity team?
I joined the team in June, on secondment from Catch22 (one of Capacity’s member organisations). I can’t believe I’m halfway through already – it’s flown!
Most of my desk career has been at Catch22, working in the policy, communications and business development teams. Before that, I did lots of different things. I was an au pair in Paris once upon a time, had the pleasure of doing an undergraduate degree at SOAS University, worked in supported accommodation with young people, lots of restaurant and café work, and quite a few random jobs on my laptop, earning money… the list kind of goes on.
What are you most looking forward to in your role?
The world feels reactive and like everyone’s working so hard just to keep up. So, it’s a real privilege to be working at the forefront of things, supporting public services to pause, pivot, and have a greater impact.
Okay, now for some rapid-fire questions. What three words best describe you?
I outsourced! Gian said, “keen, learner, doer.” Katie said, “ambitious, inquisitive, reflective and kind” (couldn’t pick just 3). I’ll happily take them all.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
I tend to overthink, so it’s actually just my dad’s voice saying “go, go, go, Aggie”, from when I was a kid. To this day, that helps me out when I need to make a decision – cuts through the noise! Wisdom in simplicity, I guess.
What inspires you?
Books, music, nature… Things that reflect life back to me!
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Languages for sure! Imagine just bopping about the world, chatting to everyone and getting to inhabit so many different cultures.
What’s one thing you wish you’d known when you were younger?
You’re doing it your way; you’re doing it the right way.
Who’d play you in a biopic of your life?
I think I’d like a comic to play me… Like Sharon Horgan or Kathryn Hahn – obsessed!
If you had a magic wand, what’s the one thing you’d fix?
I’d slow the world down. Reset. Give people time to talk. It’s hard to fix things when the trains have already left the station, and it just keeps going.
What’s your favourite place in the Liverpool City Region?
I’d only visited Liverpool twice before getting this job, and since then have mostly been in Premier Inns and offices around the centre. But! I had a lovely dinner at an old colleague’s house in the summer, who lives in Tuebrook, and her garden was a thing of wonder!
What’s one thing on your bucket list that you want to tick off this year?
A bit boring, and I’ll have to pretend it’s 2026 already, but driving license… It’s happening!
What’s a skill you’re working on mastering?
Oh god… Lazy answer – see the last question.
What are you most excited about in life right now?
I’m housesitting for a friend in Leeds this winter, so I’m excited to get out into the Yorkshire countryside and get through a bit of a bucket list of things I’d like to see and do!
